Can you feel it? That eerie Neptunian stillness and mixed with the fiery activation of the Jupiter/Pluto/Uranus T-square being ignited by willful and dynamic Mars? We’re entering into the dark phase of the moon today as we head into the New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Pisces this weekend— the veil between worlds is becoming incredibly thin.
Friday (2/24): No major planetary transits today as we dive deep into the dark phase of the moon in Aquarius.
The Dark Moon phase lasts roughly three days surrounding the time of the New Moon. The dark phase of the lunar cycle is a period of letting go of that which no longer serves us from the preceding lunar cycles. It is a time when the veil is quite thin and our connection to the other realms becomes much more potent. The Dark Moon is not an appropriate time to initiate new actions. For women in particular, now is a time when our physical energy is at it's lowest. It is powerful time when our psychic and intuitive abilities are heightened. Now is the time to go inward to surrender and reflect on the past while seeding intentions for the future.
Saturday (2/25): Mercury moves into Pisces today shifting our thoughts into the realm of the visual, fantastical, intuitive, and compassionate. Mercury transiting the Piscean depths over these next couple of weeks allows us to access the deepest layers of our subconscious mind and effectively communicate the ideas, images and fantasies we discover along the way. This transit favors creativity and artistic expression, and is excellent for getting in touch with deeply held emotions. On the flip side, this transit indicates that our minds may become more clouded and confused, and that we may become more susceptible to deception and illusion (this is especially true for those who already have a heavy Neptunian influence in their chart). Mercury’s transit through Pisces provides ample opportunity for exploration of all things mystical, spiritual, and occulted and is an excellent time for working with dreams.
Sunday (2/26): Today is the day! The New Moon/ Solar Eclipse in Pisces is exact at 7:58am MST.
When there is a lot of Pisces/Neptune energy abound, such as there is right now, it causes our waking lives to become foggy, confusing and unclear. This effect, combined with the Piscean tendency to want to see the best in people, often causes us to become much more vulnerable to deception. Being the most compassionate of the Zodiac signs, Pisces tends to view the world through rose-colored glasses. Beginning in the fall of 2015 with the South Node’s transit through Pisces, we’ve been collectively working to let go of that which no longer serves us in terms of confusion, delusion, self-deception, martyrdom or playing the victim. With Neptune and the karmic and otherworldly South Node in close alignment with Sunday’s eclipse, we’re moving into the final Pisces purge. It’s time to let go of loose boundaries and escapist tendencies that are holding us back from reaching our full potential. Within the space that’s been created through the clearing out of our Pisces shadow, we’re finally able to see the potential for the beauty and connectedness that can be created out of the rubble. Moving forward, we all have the ability to connect more deeply with spirit and to create our lives from a space of greater love and compassion. Having let go of so many unsavory emotional connections and escapist habits, we now have the potential to move through practical reality with greater understanding and ease all the while rooting our actions in something that is beautiful, pure and true— transcending the boundaries of our physical reality and lacking the need for explanation.
In addition to the eclipse, we have Mars conjunct Uranus today, bringing in some electric energy and highlighting the long-term Jupiter/Uranus opposition, which comes exact for the second time on Friday of next week. This transit can bring sudden upsets, erratic behavior and a myriad of surprises. The energy of this transit may be expressed through inner frustration that leads to outer change, an intense desire for individual freedom or impulsivity. Jumping head first into new situations is not advisable at this time, especially with the Pisces New Moon still very active. There is a danger of accidents due to carelessness and people may be more prone to lash out at others. While there is a definite need for willful self-expression and change, Jupiter in Libra’s opposition to Mars/Uranus requires balance, close connection and consideration for the way our actions influence those around us.
