This weekend is marked by friction, and interpersonal frustration with difficult aspects forming between the Sun, Venus and Uranus throughout these next few days. While the energy this weekend may bring about the need for change, causing us to act impulsively on in-the-moment irritations, this is really more of an introspective time with the Moon moving into it’s dark phase as we prepare for a POWERFUL New Moon early next week!
Friday (1/12): Today marks the third and final pass of the threefold Mercury conjunction to Saturn, which was a marked and sobering influence throughout the holiday season— the most recent pass occurring on December 6th. This third conjunction, newly transiting the pragmatic sign of Capricorn, represents forward momentum into new plans and actions toward cultivating our inner-authority and building more appropriate and supportive structures in our lives. Thinking back to what came up during the two week period of Mercury/Saturn activity toward the end of November and beginning of December can, however, clue us into the situations that remain unresolved that must be addressed head on during the final pass of this transit. Mercury conjunct Saturn slows down our thoughts and causes us to become much more reserved and deliberate in our communication and decision-making as Saturn requires that we do things the RIGHT way, rather than the fast way. This is an excellent energy for getting down to business as the combination of Mercury and Saturn’s energies are ideal for diligent mental labor. As long as you’re not afraid to work, today may be a very productive and purposeful day.
The Moon is waning in Sagittarius as we begin to wind down the lunar month which began with the New Moon, also in Sagittarius on December 17th. Later tonight, the Moon will make a challenging square to Neptune, making us more prone to avoid our emotions through fantasy, illusion, drugs and alcohol. Between the serious energy of the Mercury/Saturn aspect and the Moon’s foggy and confusing square to Neptune, tonight isn’t an ideal night to go our partying as people may be more prone to “drowning their sorrows” as a means to escape reality.
Saturday (1/13): Venus is still winding down from the powerful alignment to Jupiter, Mars and Pluto amidst it’s Superior Conjunction to the Sun which came exact early this week. Today, the normally balanced and beautiful Venusian energy takes another hit with a challenging square to Uranus in Aries— bringing some unexpected surprises which aim to shake us out of our comfort zones when it comes to our close relationships. This energy requires change, and for those with Sun/Moon/Rising or other personal planets at the middle-to-end degrees of the Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra, this energy may be felt quite intensely. This energy may be experienced as a disruption in relationship dynamics or a frustration that can only be resolved by vying for more freedom. Hasty relationship decisions are one potential pitfall of this influence, along with impulsive spending and internal impediments to our feelings of lovability and self-worth. The best way to deal with difficult Uranus transits is to remain flexible, roll with the punches and open ourselves up to change when and where it’s needed.
Sunday (1/14): Today the Sun, still closely linked with Venus, makes a challenging square to Uranus— further highlighting the disruptive interpersonal energy from yesterday’s difficult transit. The Sun in square with Uranus can bring about change in a way that is disruptive to our identity, success and sense of purpose and this time around it is very much tied in with our partnerships.
The Moon goes Void-of-Course in Sagittarius today from 1:48am until 12:42pm MST when it moves into it’s dark phase in Capricorn, making the early morning hours somewhat of a “failure to launch.” This is an excellent morning to hide out, relax on the couch and enjoy a lazy introspective, dark-moon Sunday— especially if you’re feeling the brunt of the electric, frustrated energy of Uranus squaring Venus and the Sun. Throughout the day the Moon will conjunct both Saturn and Mercury, further highlighting the need to get our ducks in a row and requiring us to revisit energies at play when the conjunction between Saturn and Mercury came exact on Friday.
Have a beautiful weekend everyone! Be sure to check back on Sunday for the weekday forecast! :)
