Welcome to the very first Eclipse Season of 2018! This week the intensity is mounting as we come into the total, Blood Moon & Blue Moon total Lunar Eclipse in Leo on Wednesday. This powerfully transformative energy will be felt very strongly throughout the entire week, if not the entire month, and the effects of this fated transit may last for several months! Not only does this time period mark the culmination point of energy and events that took place near the Solar Eclipse in Leo back in August 2017, it is also a major period of release, surrender and transformation that brings about very strange and synchronous occurrences that serve to lead us even further into an entirely new path in life.
Monday (1/29): No major planetary aspects. The Moon will be transiting its home sign of Cancer throughout the day today, making positive aspects to both Neptune and Jupiter, as well as an opposition to Pluto. The Moon in Cancer is good for exploring our comfort zones, focusing on the home and family, getting in touch with our emotions, intuition and our more nurturing side. In trine with Neptune and Jupiter, many of us will feel much more optimistic and idealistic throughout the day. With the opposition to Pluto in the evening, we may find that powerful revelations of hidden truths may try to pull us away from our dreamy, cheerful state. The trick here is to face whatever is revealed to us head on in order to integrate the Truth that’s been revealed to us.
Tuesday (1/30): No major planetary aspects. The Moon goes Void-of-Course at 9:40am MST after making it’s last aspect in the sign of Cancer— an opposition to Mercury in Capricorn, indicating that activities and projects initiated over the past couple of days may come into difficulty due to a limited, overly structured mindset or a potential dispute with an authority figure.
At 11:53am, the Lunar Eclipse energy begins to grow stronger as the Moon moves into the creative and vivacious sign of Leo! Self-expression is what the moon in Leo is all about. This is a time when our creative passions take center stage, and we can feel more confident and optimistic about our ambitions. In generous, outgoing Leo, celebrations and socializing are also favored as well as heartfelt connections and romance. If you’re feeling the brunt of the intensity from the Supermoon/Blood Moon Eclipse, now is a beautiful time to take time out to indulge in hobbies and play. There is a tendency with the moon in Leo for people to become more emotionally expressive and dramatic, and with the Moon at it’s closest proximity to the earth (perigee) today, this could mean a whole new level of emotional histrionics for some. People may also be more susceptible to vanity, self-centeredness, and over inflation of the ego at this time, while others will be feeling much more raw and vulnerable.
The only aspect the Moon makes today is a harmonious trine to Mars in Sagittarius, instilling a sense of optimism and adventure which serves to propel us forward into uncharted emotional territory.
Wednesday (1/31): The Supermoon/Blood Moon total Lunar Eclipse in Leo comes exact early this morning at 6:27am MST. The energy of this Eclipse is reminiscent of the Total Solar Eclipse that occurred in Leo on August 21st, 2017, and thinking back to what happened around that time can give clues into what energies will be reaching their culmination point for you this time around. As with any Full Moon, this Eclipse may represent either a crisis point or a point of full materialization of the energy that was seeded roughly 5-6 months ago. How this plays out in your own life is entirely dependent on how you’ve utilized the energy thus far and the aspects this eclipse is making in your birth chart—but, in general this energy can mark a major turning point in life where we must surrender the old in order to move more fully and courageously into a path that is more heart-centered and authentic! Throughout eclipse season, which lasts until the end of February, fate steps in and redirects our course in life wherever it is most needed. Major changes and turning-points can come about in ways that are very strange and synchronous in order to pull us more deeply into the path we are destined to take.

Mercury leaves the structured, conventional sign of Capricorn today and into the highly unconventional sign of Aquarius! When Mercury transits Aquarius, our minds move much more quickly, with downloads of information and flashes of insight coming into our awareness when we least expect it. This energy is excellent for thinking outside of the box and for finding new, innovative solutions to old problems. As far as communication goes, messages received at this time can be surprising, unexpected, and downright bizarre! Expect some highly unusual conversations to come about over these next couple of weeks.
Thursday (2/1): No major planetary aspects. The Moon goes Void-of-Course at 3:28am MST after making a harmonious trine to Uranus. This aspect indicates that the turbulent energy that may have come up during the Eclipse will likely result in beneficial, unexpected change.
The Moon moves into the analytical, pragmatic sign of Virgo at 12:13pm MST. In Virgo, the moon expresses itself with compassion and humility. There is an opportunity during this time to show up in selfless service of others. People may find themselves busier than normal, with endless to-do lists. Organizing, planning, and budgeting are particularly favorable activities. There is also a tendency to over-think and over-analyze feelings, emotions, and interactions. People become more prone to self-criticism and judgment, leading to nervousness and anxiety. There is also a danger of becoming over-critical and judgmental of others. Exercise caution in expressing your feelings, as your words may come across more cold and harsh than you intend, and people are more easily affected by the criticisms of others. Taking care of your health, especially when it comes to diet and nutrition, is favored at this time.
The Moon makes a challenging square to Mars this evening, indicating the potential for emotional frustration, angry outbursts, and disputes. This is quickly followed to a re-stabilizing and harmonious trine to Saturn, indicating that any disruptions will be resolved quickly and for the long-term.
