We have some floaty, dreamy energy to kick off our workweek with Mercury in the slow-moving and grounded sign of Taurus making a sextile over to floaty and mystical Neptune along with an opposition to indulgent and over-the-top Jupiter on Tuesday. This energy is great for creativity but not-so-good for making concrete plans or detailed and precise communication. On Wednesday, things become a bit more fiery and optimistic as the Sun in Gemini comes into trine with Mars, bringing in some much needed motivation to keep us moving forward!
Monday (5/21): No major planetary aspects today. The Moon is Void-of-Course in Leo throughout most of the day until it enters the practical and service-oriented sign of Virgo at 7:03pm MST. Throughout most of the day, it is not advisable to begin new projects as the VOC Moon is a better energy for introspection, wrapping things up and taking care of routine tasks. This evening we come into the first quarter square of the Moon, indicating a crisis of commitment. This is a time where we may feel disappointed with our progress thus far and old baggage from past cycles may come into conflict with what is being created in the present. The key here is to let go of old, limiting beliefs and psychological patterns that are holding us back. Emotional baggage from the past can leave us feeling stuck at this time, and this is an excellent time to clear away old wounds as they surface. The key here is to push through and not allow oneself to be held back by the events of the past. If used correctly, this can be a potent time of action and opportunity.
Tuesday (5/22): Mercury in Taurus makes a supportive sextile to mystical Neptune in Pisces today, just prior to its exact opposition to retrograde Jupiter in Scorpio. Today people’s speech may become more creative, exaggerated and idealistic, so it is advisable to exercise a bit of healthy skepticism toward offers that seem too good to be true. People may have unrealistic expectations for their plans and goals, which may breed big talkers with little or no follow-through. While this transit instills incredible optimism and brings us outside of the situation to see things from a broader perspective, this more expansive mindset can have us glossing over the details and missing key information that may aid us in our journey. With Neptune in the mix, this is a great time for creative writing, journaling, meditation or reading and learning about mystical, spiritual topics.
The Moon today is still transiting Virgo, making mostly positive aspects to Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter throughout the day, with an opposition to foggy and confusing Neptune thrown in for good measure. At the start of the day, working in partnership with others in business and financial dealings is favored. With the Moon in trine to Saturn, many of us will be in the mood to take things seriously (but not too seriously) and to put in the right amount of effort in order to get things done. As we move into the evening hours, the Moon opposes Neptune and trines Jupiter, making this a great time to indulge, kick back and relax. Indulging in a fantasy novel or a good movie or doing something to detach from he daily grind would be a great use of this energy.
Wednesday (5/23): The Sun in Gemini today comes into a beautiful, harmonious trine with Mercury in Aquarius, providing inspiration and motivation that can provide powerful momentum toward success! This enthusiastic transit can provide just the energy we’ve been needing to propel us forward in achieving our goals. This is courageous and optimistic influence, giving us the confidence to initiate any new projects we’ve been holding back on due to uncertainty, ambivalence or lack of self-esteem.
The Moon today in Virgo makes a harmonious trine to both Mercury in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn, sharpening our perception and helping us to read between the lines a bit easier. The energy this morning is excellent for research, emotional detective work or deep psychological investigation of any kind. This influence is fleeting, and the energy dissipates quite quickly after the Moon goes Void-of-Course at 7:55am MST, where it will remain until it moves into the fair and balanced sign of Libra later tonight at 11:52pm MST.
The moon is considered Void of Course (VOC) during the time between the moon’s last major aspect with another planet in its current sign and the moment it moves into the next sign.
Because now is a time when the moon remains un-aspected, our inner world may become much more calm, quiet and clear. The VOC moon is a time when our intuition can become heightened as it is free from outside planetary influences; however, too much mental or physical activity at this time can distort our psychic senses and cause us to take wrong action. This is why when we take action or begin a new project during the VOC moon, things often don't pan out. Likewise, any thoughts we may have or worries we may hold on to are also unlikely to come to fruition and are merely serving as a distraction from the inner quiet brought on by the void. While the VOC moon is a fertile time for receiving insight and inspiration, now is not the time to act. In just a few hours, the moon will change signs, which will allow us to begin bringing to fruition whatever was seeded during this highly intuitive time of calm and contemplation.
Thursday (5/24): No major planetary aspects. The Moon in the considerate and balanced sign of Libra comes into it’s waxing gibbous phase, exact at 5:48am MST. The Waxing Gibbous Moon phase marks a harmonious time in the lunar cycle when the intentions we seeded at the new moon are beginning to gain traction and grow to their fullness. The challenges we encountered during the first quarter square of the moon have been overcome and things begin to flow more easily. The Gibbous Moon is a time to clarify intentions and promote further growth and liberation from the failures of past cycles.
The Moon makes challenging aspects to both Venus and Saturn later this afternoon, indicating emotional tension and friction in relationships along with the prevalence of a more somber attitude.
Have a beautiful week! Be sure to check back on Thursday for the weekend forecast! :)
