This week we are entering into a POWERFUL phase of New Beginnings with the very FIRST New Moon following the super powerful alignment of the Sun and Saturn in Capricorn on the Winter Solstice! This energy is potent with exciting new potential, and with all planets currently moving direct, we’re truly being set up to hit the ground running!
Monday (1/15): Jupiter in the passionate sign of Scorpio comes into a supportive sextile with Pluto in Capricorn today! While the influence of this transit is more of a transpersonal, global nature, this intense combination can bring up deep truths that have been repressed, suppressed or kept hidden. This is an excellent energy for honesty, first and foremost, and for being upfront with people about our true feelings and motivations. For those with the Sun/Moon/Rising or other personal planets Between 16-22 degrees in Scorpio or Capricorn, this can be a deeply empowering and transformative transit— an energy that will continue to be at play on-and-off throughout most of 2018.
The Moon is in its dark phase in Capricorn today, making this an ideal time to rest, recuperate and turn inward. This is a time of surrender and with the Moon making a trine with Neptune today, now is an ideal time to take a break from reality for those who are able.
Tuesday (1/16): Today we come into a POWERFUL New Moon at the end degrees of Capricorn, which occurs this evening at 7:17pm MST as part of a Stellium of planets along with Pluto and Venus— bringing powerful transformation to the structures of our relationships. The New Moon is always a time of release and letting go, and with Pluto in the mix this energy is much more potent. Now is the time to PURGE and let go of old, rigid and stagnant patterns in our closest relationships. As a result, we may become much more empowered in our partnerships. This is also a time of major new beginnings and a deepening of intimacy in our relationships, when the truth we’ve been cleverly avoiding with lots of “busy-ness” and activity may be revealed to us when we turn our attention inward. Because this is also the first New Moon following the Winter Solstice, now is also an excellent time for us all to set our New Year’s intentions into motion, so long as we don’t cling too tightly to the way we think things “should” turn out—after all, eclipse season has officially begun. ;)
Wednesday (1/17): Venus officially moves into the enigmatic sign Aquarius today, following the path of the Moon which moved into Aquarius at 1:32am MST. With Venus in Aquarius, people tend to take a more voyeuristic and detached, albeit friendly approach to their relationships. This energy favors freedom over commitment and the unusual and exciting over the status quo. Venus in Aquarius favors changing with your partner, or changing partners all together for those who are so inclined. The next few weeks are excellent for connecting with friends, networking and working with groups of people on negotiations, projects, or brainstorming new, innovative ideas. This is also a great time to break free from old, monotonous and mundane routines in our current partnerships in favor of mixing things up and exploring the unfamiliar.
Mars also comes into an exact inconjunct/quincunx aspect with Uranus today, and this energy can become downright explosive in the passionate, Mars-ruled signs of Aries and Scorpio. While inconjunctions typically indicate planetary energy that is either repressed or over-expressed, the intensity of this inconjunction suggests the latter. This is an important time to slow down a bit and be careful not to act too quickly on impulse, become too aggressive in our search for freedom and rebellion, or move through life to hastily as this energy is ripe for accidents, arguments, and saying and doing things we may later regret. While making dramatic and intense changes may seem attractive at this time, it is wise to exercise caution before jumping into something new.

Thursday (1/18): No major planetary aspects. The Moon is in Aquarius throughout the day and will square Jupiter this evening, which indicates an energy of getting one’s hopes up about some exciting new developments, leading to future disappointment.
Have a beautiful week! Be sure to check back on Thursday for the weekend forecast! :)
