Jul 14, 2023The Lots of Fortune and Spirit are 2 of the 7 Hermetic Lots used used in Hellenistic astrology. The Hermetic Lots are not planetary bodies in space, but rather they are mathematical calculations based upon on the position of the 7 Traditional Planets in Astrology, i.e. the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.
The Lot of Fortune is the lot of the Moon and the Lot of Spirit is the Lot of the Sun. These two Lots are intrinsically connected, representing a “yin and yang” type of energy that speak to the physical body and human experience as well as the soul and a sense of higher purpose and meaning!
Most people have heard of the Lot of Fortune (or the Part of Fortune) in astrology, which imbues whatever area it is placed in your chart with an additional layer of luck, chance, circumstance, as well as your wealth and the health of the body.
The Lot of Spirit being connected to the Sun has a lot to do with deepening the feeling of purpose through our chosen career or work!
