MAY 2021 ASTRO-HIGHLIGHTS: BIG DREAMS, COSMIC DECEPTION AND IDEALISTIC OVERKILL

May is a big month in the astrology as we kick off yet another eclipse season AND another Mercury retrograde cycle! A lot of the action is centered around the sign of Gemini, ruler of communication, curiosity and quick-wit, including the Mercury retrograde and upcoming eclipses! Mercury transiting its home sign is typically a good thing, but during the second half of month Mercury will be making a prolonged square with cloudy and confusing Neptune in Pisces. This indicates the potential for many mistakes, misinformation and flat out lies to be floating around toward the end of this month. Pair that energy with a Mercury retrograde and we have a recipe for some very strange and disorienting conversations! On a happier note, we can’t leave out the BIGGEST event of the month—Jupiter moving into Pisces for the first time in roughly 12 years! While particular phase of the Jupiter-in-Pisces transit will be rather short-lived, it will give us a taste of the beautiful, compassionate, transcendent influence of Jupiter in it’s traditional rulership! Jupiter retrogrades back into Aquarius in July, so enjoy it while it’s here! :)

MERCURY ENTERS GEMINI

Mercury enters its home sign of Gemini for a prolonged, eleven-week stay where it will station to go retrograde in just a couple of weeks! Mercury brings playful and inquisitive energy to our thoughts and communications in the quick-witted sign of Gemini—and this will hold true despite all of the astrological strangeness to come! That being said, Mercury will be in a rather compromised position as it moves into a square with Neptune just before stationing later this month, brining about an energy that’s ripe for lies, delusion, and disillusionment. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If it seems blown out of proportion, it probably is too!

Luckily, Mercury will spend the next week or so forming a very grounding and harmonious trine with Saturn in Aquarius, bringing a longevity and pragmatism to all of our most ingenious conversations, ideas and plans. Be sure to use this energy while it lasts!

VENUS ENTERS GEMINI

Venus in Gemini levels up the flirtatiousness in our relationships—think witty banter, childlike teasing, and lots of laughter! When Venus is in the communicative sign of Gemini, words of affirmation become our preferred “love language” but, with Venus squaring Neptune later in the month make sure that the words you’re using to express your feelings are rooted in TRUTH! Flattery for flattery’s sake can get us into trouble throughout this period, as can seemingly innocent flirtation when it’s taken a bit too far! The rose-colored-glasses will be clouding our vision during the second half of this transit and new relationships or agreements may not be exactly what they appear to be at first glance!

Jupiter in Pisces expands on our spiritual beliefs and ideals and brings gifts and good fortune through charitable acts and the type of kindness that is truly selfless. This will be a magical time for spiritual entrepreneurship and the arts, as well as a great time to expand our minds into deep contemplation over the interconnectedness between all things. Happy Solar Return to all of my Gemini readers out there! This Gemini season is super karmic, super fated, and super transformative as we enter into yet another Eclipse Season! As soon as the Sun moves into Gemini, we’ll start feeling the strange and synchronous pull of its upcoming conjunction to the North Node, which will be highlighted VERY strongly next week by the Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius! The Sun’s ingress into Gemini also brings with it a very dreamy, idealistic, and enthusiastic square to Jupiter in Pisces! When the Sun squares Jupiter, ambitions can be on overdrive and people to have a greater tendency to overdo it when it comes to their need to achieve. With this square to Jupiter in the mix, this eclipse energy is going to feel a bit… over the top, to say the least!

While Saturn was direct, we were working very hard with a future goal in mind, only to be hit with unexpected disruptions and strange, uncomfortable challenges causing us to pivot, move sideways, and adjust our course of action. Now we’ll be looking back at what we’ve created so far and working hard on DE-constructing anything too burdensome or restrictive that we no longer wish to carry with us on our journey moving forward. This is also an important time to reflect on our boundaries, getting just as clear on what we DON’T want as we are on what we wish to create.

The Blood Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius is looking to be INCREDIBLY Powerful bringing with it major culmination points of fated situations, relationships, energies and events that have been activated beginning in May of 2020 when the lunar nodes first moved into Gemini and Sagittarius. This eclipse brings forth a continuation of a karmic saga that’s causing us to release old, outdated belief systems and ideals and seek out new ways of thinking and building community. With the South Node in the sign that rules foreign travel, it’s no surprise that we’ve been forced to surrender our urge for real-life physical adventure and connections to other cultures in favor of quick journeys, looser, more short-term travel plans, and sticking close to home. On a mundane level, this summer could see more of the same along with some additional new developments and disruptions involving the travel and transportation industry.

The words we hear and the thoughts we think throughout this period may sound lovely at first, but there’s something we’re not quite “getting” when it comes to our communications and conversations during this particular Mercury retrograde cycle. Be wary of double-speak, covert deception, and offers that are clearly too good to be true. This energy could bring a bit of a “bait-and-switch” when it comes to contracts, offers and agreements—tread lightly in this area and make sure you TRULY read and understand the fine print.
